TAEAN NATIONAL MARITIME MUSEUM
The Taean National Maritime Museum has been created thanks to the groundbreaking discoveries of maritime relics in the central West Sea after the 2000s. As shipwrecks and artifacts were frequently found since the discovery of the Taean shipwreck in 2007, the Taean National Maritime Museum has opened its doors for the purpose of investigating, conserving, researching, and using the maritime cultural heritages recovered from the region.
The National Research Institute of Maritime Heritage, an active performer on the stage of exchange and communication called the sea, will continue its efforts so that cultural heritage submerged in the sea can see the light again, and so that the sea can be seen as a scene of history.
